How It Works

The exchange program is simple and effective. When we receive your order, we assemble your propeller using new and overhauled parts from our inventory and then ship or deliver. When you receive the exchange propeller, simply ship the “core” propeller back to us – or take advantage of our pickup and delivery service. Please note that “Time-Since-New” (TSN) is required for each returned core propeller.

Without this information, your core material will not qualify for return to overhaul- stock status and you will be charged for these parts.

Hartzell Service Center will overhaul your “core” propeller, and return all airworthy parts to our inventory. Your final invoice will reflect the cost of a normal base overhaul, plus the additional cost of any parts in your core that failed to meet airworthiness specifications. Because of the costs involved in providing our exchange service, Hartzell Service Center offers exchange propellers for a minimal fee – currently 1% of the list price of the propeller. Additionally, any parts in your core that are retired from service will be billed at new part pricing less appropriate customer discount.

Credit Terms

We establish credit terms for each individual customer; if qualified, net terms are available. If net terms are not established, a core deposit will be requested when you place your order. If there is a remaining balance from the core deposit, it will be refunded. Call us to learn more about how this program can add value for your organization and thank you for considering the Hartzell Service Center for your propeller repair and overhaul needs.

GOVERNOR EXCHANGE

In addition to its popular propeller exchange program, the Hartzell Service Center also offers propeller governor exchanges for those customers requiring minimal flight downtime. Like a prop exchange, a governor exchange can be arranged ahead of any scheduled service.
